Athletics at the 2022 Youth World Games

The 2022 Youth World Games edition will include ATHLETICS competitions for boys and girls. Athletics events are always amongst the most popular disciplines in multisports competitions, in fact Athletics has been a major feature of Olympic Games since ever. In Ancient Greece for example, at the first Olympic games held in 776 BC, athletics was the major discipline in dispute.

The 2022 Youth World Games will feature competitions for both boys and girls in the following age level: Boys from 13 to 18 years of age, and girls from 16 to 18 years of age. The disciplines taking place will include: 100mts, 200mts, 400mts, 1500mts, 3000mts, Long Jump, Shot Put, Javelin, High Jump, Discus Throw and a Cross-Country competition.

The 2022 Youth World Games is being organized  by Sports Ventures, a Sports Travel & Events House provider of sports travel & event management services, including the organization of several local, regional and international sports events in different sports disciplines such as: Gazprom Football for Friendship; Medigames The World Medical and Health Games; The Youth World Games; The Algarve 7s, The Lisbon 7s, The Junior 7s.

The 2022 Youth World Games will be played in Europe´s favorite beach region: the Algarve. The region of the Algarve in the south of Portugal won the World Travel Awards for Europe´s best beach destination in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2020!
